Breaking down a large biblical book for preaching texts is not a simple task. While the original language offers clear clues to breaks in thought with textual clues and transitions, a specific pace of teaching must be intentionally chosen. During our series in FC, we chose a pace that is an attempt to maximize depth of study while not sacrificing a unified grasp of the whole. Forest and trees. Both are important to understanding Paul’s ancient words so that we can live them out, which is the ultimate goal of our study. Here’s how we will break down the text for Sunday study.
The preaching dates have not been shown here, because inevitably some dates will change and shift in the course of what will be the better part of a full year. Furthermore, the specific subjects and larger themes shown in the outline above will help us subdivide and package these smaller units in theme and branding as we go. But, above all of that, these preaching units will be our guide for 2023.
